Misbar’s Analysis
According to Misbar’s investigation, NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace has been confused for another NASCAR driver with a similar name, Mike Wallace. NBCsports.com reports that Mike Wallace, who made three Xfinity Series starts this season as a driver, was suspended September 10, 2020. His appeal of the decision was recently denied by the National Motorsports Appeals Panel. Mike Wallace was suspended for violating sections of the NASCAR rulebook having to do with making any public statement and/or communication that criticizes, ridicules, or otherwise disparages another person based upon that person’s race, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age, or handicapping condition.
According to Yahoosports.com, Wallace’s suspension was based on a Facebook post but NASCAR has never identified which post got Wallace suspended.
Bubba Wallace has also been involved in controversy, but none was based on his own actions.
Bubba Wallace and Mike Wallace have no relationship to one another.
