The Claim

The picture below shows Emily Murphy,  the head of the U.S. General Services Administration, wearing a shirt reading “F*ck Your Feelings” at a rally for President Donald Trump.

Emerging story

The image and accompanying claim went viral in November 2020, following what many considered to be the GSA’s hesitation to begin the transition to the Biden administration.

Misbar’s Analysis

Murphy has been under fire lately for her treatment of the election transition process. On November 23, 2020, however, the GSA approved the transition for President-Elect Joe Biden’s administration.

Misbar’s investigation discovered that Murphy does not appear in the viral image. While the image has not been digitally manipulated, it does not depict Murphy. The original photo was first posted in 2016 and is only now being connected to Murphy. It was taken in Cincinnati, Ohio, which is not where Murphy lives or is from.

Although the woman in the photo and Murphy both have blonde hair and wear glasses, they do not look anything alike
