After the Argentinian footballer Diego Maradona died on November 25, a video started circulating on social media claiming to be from his funeral. Social media users claimed that thousands of Maradona’s fans participated in his funeral to pay him tribute.

Misbar's investigation found the circulating claim false. Our image reverse search found that this video was during a 'Million March' rally as Argentina's President gestured his supporters as part of his reelection campaign, in Buenos Aires, Argentina October 19, 2019.
We also found a tweet from October 2019, by Mauricio Macri, former President of Argentina.

The circulating video is not related to Maradona or his funeral. The old video is recently being shared to spread misinformation.
