Emerging story
Since Democratic Nominee Joe Biden took the lead in the U.S. Presidential Election, President Donald Trump and his allies have been doing everything in their power to overturn the results.
Claiming that voter fraud supposedly caused Biden’s victory at every turn, Trump & friends issued dozens of lawsuits in various states in an attempt to overturn election results.
Despite Trump’s continuous public proclamations of winning the election, his legal battles have not seen much success. The vast majority of these lawsuits have been dropped or dismissed, with a lack of specific and credible evidence leaving the hope of any remaining ones hanging by a very thin thread.
The Supreme Court, the highest court in the United States, was at last appealed to on December 3rd. If the Court (which seats three judges appointed by Trump himself) entertained the notion of retrospectively altering election laws, it could add fuel to the sitting President’s fire. Instead, the court flatly denied the application. No statements of dissent were included.
Misbar’s Analysis
Despite an incredible string of legal failures, Trump and his followers show no sign of stopping their claims of voting fraud. Although this latest rejection is a major blow to their chances, it is not likely that the President and his associates will suddenly stop attempting to change the outcome of the election.
