Emerging story
On December 27, 2020, a video of a DJ party in Nabi Musa in Jericho went viral. Users claimed that the DJ party was organized by Christians celebrating Christmas.
Social media users shared the video expressing their anger towards a party held in a religious place.
As the party was reported, tensions started between the people in the party and Palestinian youth against the party in the mosque.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar followed the incident closely and found the claims misleading. The party in the Mosque wasn't related to Christmas, and the people organizing the event weren't Christians.
According to a Palestinian local journalist, the event was organized by The Lady of Earth Organization in Palestine and the site is under the Ministry of Al Awqaf.

A voice message was circulated on WhatsApp indicating an ongoing party is being held by a group of people inside Al Nabi Musa Mosque/ Tomb.
The DJ that appears in the circulating video is Sama Abdel Hadi, the first Palestinian DJ, and electronic music producer.
Abdel Hadi previously held DJ events in Palestine, but this time the video circulating was found offensive.
According to the Palestinian Television Jerusalem correspondent, the Palestinian Authority decided to form an investigation committee and investigate immediately the incident.
As the details behind the event remain unclear, Misbar's investigation found that the claim was a reason to spread temptation between Muslims and Christians in the MENA region.
