The Claim

A picture depicts the Bethlehem Star, which was taken from Ball State University in Indiana a few days ago.

Emerging story

As Jupiter and Saturn were aligned for the first time in more than 800 years a picture depicting the Bethlehem Star started circulating.

The  "Great Conjunction," has been compared to the Christmas Star. The users claimed the Bethlehem Stars was taken at Ball State University in Indiana, where the star was shown bright and clear.

Our investigation found the circulating is an illustration made by Rachel Williamson and was originally used in a virtual lecture under the title ´´The Christmas Star Planetarium Experience´ ´by Ball State University

 However, in the picture published by Nasa, while the planets were clearly shown, they were very far, and way less shiny and bright unlike the star in the circulated picture.
