A video shows capitol rioters being arrested.

Emerging story

A video originally posted on Twitter by aka Slip Wellington shows people getting arrested in an airport with a caption “When you get back from that DC trip and 12 been watching all them ‘lives’ you posted. #capitolriots #heykaren.”

The video quickly went viral, with over 4 million views and over 20 thousand retweets. Many people who retweeted the video made comments celebrating the arrest of the DC rioters, saying things like “#SeditionHasConsequences. How's that 'Revolution' going?”

Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar’s investigation found this claim to be false.

The original video was posted on TikTok by yungxleen on January 10th.

The video received many comments from people assuming these were rioters coming home from the storming of the capitol in Washington DC. Other users who were aware that these were not the DC rioters questioned the timing of the video’s posting.

After reading the comments on the original video, yungxleen decided to release a second video, clarifying that the original video was taken in November and “has nothing to do with the capitol."
