Misbar’s Analysis

After the riot at the Capitol, the former president’s social media accounts have been suspended on most major platforms. Ever since, he’s lacked a direct way to reach his supporters. Still, he appears to want to remain a political force.

To continue his involvement in U.S. politics, Trump has formed the Florida-based Office of the Former President. The organization’s official goal is support Trump’s agenda through advocacy, fundraising, and consultation. What this organization will accomplish is uncertain, as is its influence on the Republican party.

Misbar found that The Office of the Former President is already on the move. It’s supporting several Republican candidates’ election campaigns, specifically those who fall in line with Trump’s stated political agenda. The Office of the Former President has also been supporting those loyal to him during his administration, especially in Georgia.

Some other former presidents have started their own organizations as well, such as the Carter Center or the Clinton Foundation.
