Emerging story

On February 12th, 2021, on Twitter a user posted an image that appears to be a before and after picture of the woman who put Gorilla Glue in her hair.

The tweet received more than 16k retweets, with people praising the Gorilla Glue woman, saying things like “My sis is back and hotter with that gorilla shit,” and calling it the “Comeback of the year.”

Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar’s investigation found this claim to be fake.

The woman on the right is actually Ivreon Devine. She posted the same image on Facebook on February 11th, one day before the photo went viral on Twitter. In her Facebook post, she uses #noThatsNotMeOnTheLeft.

Ivreon Devine is a musical artist and rapper who used this opportunity to promote her music. On her Facebook wall, one of her friends pointed out that she only posted the pic to be funny and wasn’t even thinking of the reaction it was going to get.

The woman who ACTUALLY had Gorilla Glue in her hair, Tessica Brown, finally was able to have the Gorilla Glue removed from her head after more than a month of her hair being stuck in the same place. The removal was performed by plastic surgeon, Michael Obeng, and the process was filmed by TMZ.
