Toyger Kitten Photo is Fake

Misbar’s investigation found that the picture has been digitally manipulated. It first appeared in a mock-up ad for Newman’s Own cat food published by digital artist Robyn Silev in 2013.

However, the Toyger cat is a real breed of cat made by crossing a Bengal cat with a striped domestic shorthair. 

They are less vibrant-appearing than in the manipulated photo, but are still – to this Misbar writer, at least – very adorable.
