The Claim

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is being recklessly tested on young children and babies, even though it has potentially deadly side effects.

Emerging story

On March 8th, radio show host Alex Jones uploaded a video to Banned.video called, “Trial COVID Vaccine To Be Tested On Infants With Potentially Deadly Side Effects.”

In the three hour long video, Jones stated that President Joe Biden had approved via martial law the experimental testing of Johnson & Johnson vaccines upon children. He went on to state without evidence that this vaccine has been linked to serious problems. He referred to the testing as a crime against humanity and compared it to the methods of Nazi physician Josef Mengele, who conducted horrific experiments on prisoners during the Holocaust, many of whom were children.

This video gained almost 150,000 views shortly after appearing online. It led to a range of social media chatter about child vaccine trials.

Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar’s investigation showed that Johnson & Johnson has planned safe ccine trials that include infants. Pfizer and Moderna are also arranging child vaccine trials.

The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is categorized as an adenovirus vaccine, which relies on a method that has been used for many years. Adenovirus vaccines are already regularly administered to infants. For instance, an Ebola adenovirus vaccine is regularly administered to babies as young as 1 year old. Pediatric vaccines are the most commonly administered, and constitute about 70 percent of the vaccine market. In fact, A 2003 law requires vaccine companies to test their products on children.

According to the FDA, there have been no serious safety issues related to the administration of the Johnson & Johnson adenovirus vaccine.

Testing vaccines on children, including babies, is a necessary step in the fight against coronavirus. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the leading infectious disease specialist in the United States, has stated that vaccinating children is necessary to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19.

The Johnson & Johnson coronavirus trials upon children are set to begin in late March, in Houston, Texas. DM Clinical Research is currently enrolling participants in the trial. A researcher for the company, Sarah Hasan, has stated that earlier testing has paved the way for safety in the upcoming trials. “The reason, and the fact that we are open for the younger population, including babies and infants, just shows that the data we collected from the older kids, the teenage studies and the adult studies, shows really, really positive data," she said. Because of that, that’s how we are able to do these other studies.”
