A video showing hundreds of vessels waiting to sail through Egyptās Suez Canal during its recent blockage by a cargo ship is widely circulating online. Facebook and Twitter users have been sharing a video filmed from a plane that shows many large ships floating in a body of water, in March claiming to depict an āaerial view of a few of the 369 vessels backed up waiting to go through the Suez Canal.ā

Misbar's image search found the circulating claim misleading. In February, the video was posted on LinkedIn by Sujeeva SALWATURA, the Country Head at Pacific International Lines (Pte) Ltd, Bangladesh. āFascinating site witnessed early hours yesterday while on a short flight from Port City Chittagong to Dhaka,ā SALWATURA wrote in the LinkedIn post. A month before, the cargo ship became stuck in the Suez Canal.
The video was recently shared as if related to the latest Ever Given incident in the Suez Canal. Misbar only found Suez Canal satellite photos on The Daily News Eygpt Twitter official account.
