Sources then claim that the plan aims to increase the number of nuclear weapons that the UK possesses by over 40%.

Misbar’s investigation shows that the sources are correct in stating that the UK government intends to increase the number of nuclear weapons that the country possesses, and that it will possibly be by over 40%.
The document states that the maximum limit on nuclear weapons stockpiled by the UK will increase from 180 to 260 by the mid-2020s. This shows that the 40% increase is an understatement, as the percentage increase from 180 to 260 is actually 44.4%.
