A video depicts black worms inside a COVID-19 facemask.
Emerging story

Users published the video warning against wearing masks for more than an hour or using them more than once.
The claim was circulating in different languages on different social media platforms.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar’s investigation found the claim misleading. No evidence supports information related to the danger of facemasks.
Masks sterilize after their manufacture in a strict manner that ensures that germs, viruses, or any organisms that may affect human health do not remain.
Dr. Saad Al-Sharif, chest diseases and sleep medicine professor and consultant, previously refuted claims related to black worms in facemasks.
However, The Canadian Ministry of Health advised stopping using masks that contain graphene until another permit is issued.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization still recommend wearing masks. CDC also recommends wearing masks due to their importance in preventing contagion.
