Misbarโ€™s Analysis

Misbarโ€™s investigation found that the image has been miscaptioned. We conducted a reverse image search and found that it was taken in Michigan on September 9, 2020 by Getty Images photographer Chip Somodevilla. The caption to the photo reads: โ€œWearing a face mask to reduce the risk posed by the coronavirus, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden kneels to chat with C.J. Brown while shopping at Three Thirteen, an apparel store on the city's Avenue of Fashion, September 09, 2020 in Detroit, Michigan.โ€

The child Biden kneels next to in the photo is the son of Clement โ€œFameโ€ Brown Jr., not George Floyd. Floyd did have several children, but they are not in the photo.

Biden has condemned Floydโ€™s killing and has reached out to his family.

Since the photo was miscaptioned, we rate this claim as false.
