Emerging story

After Jerusalem District Court ruled at least six families must vacate their homes in Sheikh Jarrah, a picture of a Palestinian woman bullied started trending online. Users claimed the picture was recently taken in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem after being forced to leave her home.

Misbar's reverse image search revealed that the circulating is misleading. The picture dates back to May 12, 2010. 
According to Getty, a Palestinian woman evicted by Jewish settlers argues with Israelis who came to celebrate Jerusalem Day on May 12, 2010, in front of her disputed house in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah. Ahmed Gharbali took the photo during the so-called Jerusalem Day, marking Israel's occupation of East Jerusalem in 1967.
