Chicago Chauvin Solidarity Meme is Fake

The Claim
The Chicago police department said in a tweet, “we are all Derek Chauvin.”

A screenshot of a tweet allegedly written by the Chicago police department’s official Twitter account circulated on social media in May 2021.
It’s been shared and discussed by quite a few social media users.
Derek Chauvin is a former police officer who is currently in prison for the killing of George Floyd.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar’s investigation found that this picture is fake. It initially appeared on Papa Ace’s Twitter account.
In his profile description, they admit that they “be on here lying” and people should “second guess” their tweets.
Not only that, but the Chicago police department themselves went on Twitter to dismiss the tweet.
Suffice to say, this meme is blatantly false.
