MSNBC host Rachel Maddow tweeted in 2016 that Hillary Clinton died.

The claim took off on Instagram in early May 2021 for reasons unknown. Most of the posts making the claim have since been removed.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar’s investigation found that the tweet was digitally manipulated. We looked through Maddow’s Twitter page and found that she never tweeted about Clinton’s death.
Maddow interviewed Clinton in May 2019, which seemingly would be impossible if she believed Clinton to be dead.
We also contacted MSNBC, who said that Maddow never posted the tweet.
