Amid the Israeli bombardment on the Gaza Strip, a picture depicts the Palestinian flag projected onto Egypt’s Great Pyramids of Giza. Egyptians shared the photo expressing their solidarity with Palestinians. The image attracted thousands of users online.

MENA: Misbar's investigation revealed that the picture circulating was fabricated. Our team found the unaltered version of the circulating photo uploaded to Wikimedia Commons in 2014.
A reverse image search revealed that the image was digitally altered to express Egyptian solidarity with Palestinians amid the ongoing situation in Palestine. Misbar previously debunked photo photoshopped to make it seem like Egypt lit up the pyramids with the Lebanese flag last year after an explosion killed over 200 people in Beirut.
