Auditors who are rechecking a vote in Maricopa County, Arizona claim they discovered election files that had been deleted. Many on social media then shared the news.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar has discovered the private companies hired by Arizona Republicans to audit the 2020 election results admitted after the fact that the data they accused Maricopa County of deleting had been found according to NBCnews.com. The audit is being overseen by a company called Cyber Ninjas.
Prior to the backtrack from the audit personnel, former President Donald Trump chimed in saying: “The entire Database of Maricopa County in Arizona has been DELETED! This is illegal and the Arizona State Senate, who is leading the Forensic Audit, is up in arms,” according to the Mercury News.
There are some who were already losing patience with the ongoing audit prior to this mistake. According to the Washington Post, the Republican-dominated Maricopa County Board of Supervisors have denounced the ongoing audit of the 2020 election vote, calling on the GOP-led state Senate to end the recount that has been championed by former president Donald Trump.
However, the Republican president of the Arizona Senate said the audit of the 2020 vote in Maricopa County will go forward. The U.S. Department of Justice has expressed concerns that the controversial audit and recount of the November election may be out of compliance with federal laws according to NPR.org.
