Captions accompanying the image claimed that the person with their back facing the camera is Kamala Harris.

Misbar’s analysis finds this claim to be false. The photo is from the set of a TV show called Designated Survivor, a political thriller . Actor Kal Penn posted it on his Instagram in 2017 to show audiences what filming looked like behind the scenes. The show never involved Kamala Harris, and she was a senator at the time.
The person in the photo is likely an actor or member of the film crew. They may have been mistaken for Harris because of their Converse sneakers, which Harris has worn during multiple public appearances.
