Misbar’s Analysis
This week, there have been at least two sightings of alleged UFOs in the San Francisco Bay Area. The other sighting turned out to be lenticular clouds. We’ve written about that one, too.
Misbar’s investigation found that the most recent alleged UFOs are actually satellites owned by SpaceX. They are among 60 other satellites recently launched as part of Starlink, which intends on providing a global internet network. At the time of writing, there are around 1,500 Starlink satellites in orbit. It’s likely that such sightings will appear in the future, as Starlink is just starting to kick off.
Starlink satellites are launched in constellation-like patterns. As they go higher into orbit, they get smaller and smaller. In an effort to ensure the night sky isn’t just a bunch of satellites, these have been fitted with special visors, so as to not reflect sunlight.
