The Claim

The Israeli People’s Committee has released a report that proves a link between the Pfizer vaccine and catastrophic harm throughout the human body.

Emerging story

In early May, 2021, the Israeli People’s Committee published a report into adverse events related to the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine. The paper had the subtitle “Never has a vaccine injured so many.”

This report went on to claim many alarming things about the Pfizer vaccine in Israel in the month of April alone. These claims included 288 deaths, a major correlation between the daily vaccination rate and the daily mortality rate and that the vaccine causes damage to almost every system in the human body.

This report then appeared on a wide range of conspiracy theory websites, with articles repeating the claim that the Pfizer vaccine damages the entire body.

Social media posts that spread these articles online have gained dozens and even hundreds of interactions.

Misbar’s Analysis

MENA: Misbar’s investigation concludes that the source that describes the adverse vaccine effects is unreliable. What many of the conspiracy theory websites omit from their articles upon the report is the following text, which appears in its opening paragraph:

“The report should not be relied upon for medical or other purposes, and it certainly does not contain any medical recommendation. Anyone who considers it as such, does so of his own accord.”

While the name “The Israeli People’s Committee” sounds professional, there are several indicators that it is anything but. There are numerous issues with the organization’s website, such as the visible format issues:

We could find no sources that cited The Israeli People’s Committee as a legitimate source of medical research.

Accurate reporting on vaccine side effects in Israel is available online. For example, in June, 2021, Reuters reported that the Israeli Health Ministry had identified a small number of heart inflammation cases in young men who had received the Pfizer vaccine. This condition, also known as myocarditis, has been recorded in 275 men in Israel aged between 16 to 30 and which occurred between December 2020 to May 2021. However, there were more than 5 million vaccines administered during this time. And 95% of these heart inflammation cases were classified as mild. The side effect caused zero deaths.

In April 2021, Israel stated that there had been no coronavirus deaths across the span of one day for the first time in 10 months.

Overall, the information presented in The Israeli People’s Committee report does not match up with any high quality scientific investigations. Instead of causing death and injury, the Pfizer vaccine has been saving lives. There may be a small risk of heart inflammation in young men, which has caused no deaths to date.
