While the Disney creations posted on Instagram were not used by the military, robotics are very much a part of the U.S. military arsenal. The armed services have been using and continue to develop drones and robots to help with their missions. At present, the robots used by the military are controlled by humans. Discussions are now centered around whether military robots should be controlled by artificial intelligence instead of humans.
