Arab News Pakistan reported the police said a man was accused of killing four members of a Canadian Muslim family after running them over in his pickup truck, targeted them in an attack motivated by hate.
London, Ontario police told the BBC they believe the victims were targeted because of their Islamic faith.
Police didn't release the victims' names, asking for privacy for the family at this time.
A 74-year-old woman, a 46-year-old man, a 44-year-old woman, and a 15-year-old girl were killed. A nine-year-old boy is recovering in hospital from severe but non-life-threatening injuries.
It is not the first time members of the Muslim community in Canada have come under attack.
