Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar did not find any reliable instance in which Trey Gowdy said anything similar to the statements made in the quote. The quote likely originated from an interview with General Thomas McInerney on the Worldview Weekend Broadcast Network.

During the interview, the general made a very similar statement “It's not fraudulent votes. The American people must understand we are talking about treason. And why do I say that? Well, when you coordinate six to ten states using cyber warfare, it changes the outcome of the election in favor of whomever you want.”

In an interview with Fox News, Trey Gowdy said that Trump supporters should avoid making claims of nationwide voter fraud. During his podcast, Gowdy also stated that it’s up to those who are alleging fraud to prove it. He has also said that Trump supporters need to know that the 2020 election rules were followed. Therefore, a quote alleging fraud and treason is unlikely to have come from former Rep. Gowdy.
