The Claim

Anti-vaccine activist Naomi Wolf was suspended from Twitter because she shared her husband’s video which incriminated Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Emerging story

The author turned anti-vaccine activist Naomi Wolf was permanently suspended from Twitter last week. Following her suspension, she released a video claiming that the real reason she was de-platformed was that she shared evidence to support that Dr. Anthony Fauci committed perjury and lied about his role in gain-of-function research. She claimed she was also suspended for sharing a politician’s statement about vaccine passports.

Misbar’s Analysis

Our investigation shows that Wolff was banned for allegedly spreading misinformation related to vaccines. While she claimed that she was suspended for sharing her husband’s video, his account is still up, despite also sharing the video.

Since her account is currently suspended, we can’t directly pull her tweets. Still, some tweets were mentioned by news networks that can be found via screenshots taken by other Twitter users.

At one point she shared the claim that we should separate the sewage of people who’ve been vaccinated from people who haven’t. Furthermore, she claimed that vaccines have “software programs,” implying that they are chipped. She even alleged that vaccines cause time travel.

Wolff completed a Doctorate in English Literature in 2015, but she is not a medical doctor or an epidemiologist. Several experts have directly pointed out the danger of her misleading claims, including autism historian and science reporter Steve Silberman who Tweeted, “Yes, Naomi Wolf is finally banned from Twitter. I won't signal-boost her lies, but I will say this: As a historian of #autism, I've been reading vile anti-vaccine propaganda for 20 years, and Wolf's claims were as out-there and delusional as I've ever seen.”

She’s clearly involved in spreading misinformation, so it’s no surprise that she was banned. Spreading misinformation is a violation of Twitter's content policy.
