Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar’s investigation found that the image from the viral post shows a temporary processing facility for migrant children and is not used for child sex trafficking. US Customs and Border Protection announced the opening of the facility on its website in April 2021. The announcement includes photos of the same tent structure shortly after its construction.
The address included in the post – 4300 E. Los Reales –is incorrect. and is actually the address of a USA Speedway. The correct address for the CBP facility is the nearby 4550 E. Los Reales.
The opening of the facility was covered by several local news outlets, some of which included photos of its inside. The news outlets that featured the facility include KOLD 13, tucson.com, and KVOA.
