Many commenters seemed to believe that these tattoos are real.

She also alluded to them being temporary tattoos. Specifically, the kind that are put on and removed using water. There are quite a few kinds of temporary tattoos out there. While many may only remember the small ones sold in machines for a quarter, some larger ones are sold on the internet. They even come in full sleeves, such as these.

Henna, another way to make temporary tattoos, is perfectly harmless (although some people with sensitive skin may want to test it out first). The mother also said that the baby’s pediatrician told her he was old enough to get temporary tattoos, so she did her due diligence.
