Discussion was sparked among technophiles on the next iPhone when Twitter user DuanRui posted four images of a smartphone that may resemble a future design from Apple. Several tech outlets and Twitter users picked up on the images and began hypothesizing on how accurate they may be for the final design of the next iPhone.
Misbar’s Analysis
Although DuanRui specified that the models shown are fake, some users did not notice his comment. Much of the commentary around the models from both users and outlets focused on the new camera layout, which features a diagonal dual-lens camera on the back and a smaller notch on the front. According to DuanRui, who frequently leaks Apple-related content, these images were found on a Chinese tech forum.
This is far from the first instance of fevered discussion around the next iPhone. June saw an uptick in chatter around Apple’s next smartphone, which as yet remains unnamed and unannounced in any official capacity by Apple. Websites such as cnet and Forbes continue to speculate on when the next iPhone will be announced, what its features will be, how much it will cost, and every variable in between. Many outlets and individuals have theorized that Apple will make a major announcement on the next iPhone sometime in 2021.
