Misbar found no evidence that Jeff Bezos was arrested or that he was sent to Guantanamo Bay. A search of recent news stories about Bezos does not mention anything about the Amazon executive chairman being arrested. Additionally, on July 1, Bezos posted a video of himself on Instagram, which is the same day the claim that he was sent to Guantanamo first surfaced.
Bezos stepped down as the Amazon CEO on July 5, changing his role to the executive chair to serve as an advisor to the new CEO. His stepping down took place after the date that he was supposedly arrested.
According to Forbes, Bezos is the richest man in the world with a net worth of $210.2 billion. Therefore, if he was sent to Guantanamo it would have been widely publicized. The billionaire also has a space mission planned for July 20 with his company Blue Origin, which still seems to be active.
