No Evidence Anonymous Threatened Trump’s Life

On July 10, 2021, a user on new social media platform Getter posted an article called “Donald Trump threatened with death by terrorist organization,” and asked if it was real.
Versions of claims about Anonymous's threat to Trump have circulated for years.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar’s investigation could not find any proof that Anonymous has threatened Trump’s life. Anonymous is a decentralized leftist group of thousands of activists, some of whom are hackers. They have been attributed with hacking the Church of Scientology, the Westboro Baptist Church, government agencies, and major corporations. Although some right-wing news sites have called Anonymous a terrorist organization, the FBI does not classify them as such.
Amusingly, when you click on the linked article in the Gettr post, it leads to an Al Jazeera article called “Trump sues Facebook, Twitter and Google over social media bans.” The article does not say anything about Anonymous death threats.
In 2017, Anonymous allegedly posted on Twitter that Trump would “regret the next 4 years.” In 2020, an anonymous group of hackers threatened to release Trump “dirty laundry” emails. Following this, someone claiming to be an Anonymous spokesperson threatened to leak other emails.
However, we could not find any proof that Anonymous has threatened Trump’s life.
