A new right-wing social network called GETTR just launched. Many people associate this platform with Trump himself, referring to it as “his” platform.
Gettr was hacked not long after launch. News articles were written and shared on other social media platforms, leading to the further spread of the claim.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar's investigation found that Trump has no official involvement with Gettr, at least not publicly. While some articles refer to it as being made by “Team Trump,” it was created by Jason Miller, Trump’s former spokesman.
As of yet, Trump does not have an official account, although Gettr claims to have one reserved for the former president.
Since Gettr was launched by “Team Trump,” but he has no official involvement in it, we rate this claim as misleading.
