Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar’s investigation has identified a video posted on Mayim Bialik’s verified YouTube channel where she clearly states several times that she will be getting herself and her children vaccinated.

The video in which Bialik clarifies her views on vaccines dates to October 2020, shortly before the first U.S. approval of the coronavirus vaccines. She clarifies that she will get two vaccines. At 22 seconds into the video, she states that the first vaccine that she will receive is for coronavirus. She then states that the second vaccine she will get is the flu vaccine, which she says she will also be giving to her children.

After this, she clarifies her previous comments upon vaccines, which were likely to have been the inspiration of the memes. The comments come from a 2012 book that Bialik authored on the subject of attachment parenting. This book received criticism for Bialik stating that she had not vaccinated her kids.

However, in the video, she clarifies that she had delayed vaccinating her children not because she thought that vaccines were dangerous in general but due to her children having health conditions that made them more at risk of side effects.

Over the course of the rest of the nine-and-a-half-minute video, Bialik explains why she believes that the coronavirus vaccines are important not just for her and her kids but for everyone.

Therefore, it is inaccurate to state that Bialik is refusing vaccines either for herself or her children. It is only accurate to state that she had delayed vaccines for her children due to their personal health issues.
