The Claim

The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) isn’t disclosing over 45,000 vaccine-related deaths.

Emerging story

This week, the anti-vaxxer group America’s Frontline Doctors (AFD) filed a lawsuit against the CDC claiming that 45,000 people died within three days after taking the vaccine. This was allegedly reported to the VAERS and subsequently taken off their database.

Misbar’s Analysis

At this time, there’s no evidence to support the lawsuit. The case is largely based on the testimony of one anonymous whistleblower, who claims to be a programmer in the medical field. As such, they allege that they have access to all sorts of data from the official Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services and have cross-referenced that with the VAERS database. An excerpt from the testimony is below.

However, there are no details provided on the specifics. How the whistleblower came up with such a high number is unknown. She claims that her data comes from the CMS, but has so far refused to show any actual evidence. Since we don’t know her methodology, it’s impossible to ascertain that what she says is correct.

Furthermore, there are some issues with the data the whistleblower does provide. She claims that there were over 9,000 reports of vaccine-related death after three days to the VAERS as of July 3. However, there were actually only about 6,000 total as of July 16.

It’s important to note that the CDC mandates all deaths post-vaccine to be reported to the VAERS, whether or not the vaccine was involved in the death or not. The whistleblower fails to mention this in her declaration. Overall, we find this lawsuit suspicious and, as it stands, without merit.
