Biden Didn’t Tell Reporters That His "Butt's Been Wiped"
The Claim
President Joe Biden told reporters that his "butt’s been wiped."

Emerging story
On July 25, Biden spoke to a group of journalists in front of a loud helicopter. After one journalist asked him about immigration, he turned to her and said something difficult to discern. Some people asserted that he said, “my butt’s been wiped.”
Misbar’s Analysis
It is very unlikely that Biden said, “my butt’s been wiped.” While it took a few listens to figure out, he likely said, “What must be what?”
Biden was asked, “must there be reconciliation?” Since it must’ve been difficult for him to hear, he asked for clarification. He must have done so in a comedic manner, as one of the reporters laughed in response. Since it was so loud, he yelled the question which made it seem more like an exclamation.
We made two neutral parties listen to Biden’s response. These parties had not heard of the “butt’s been wiped” explanation beforehand, nor of our interpretation. Neither party heard “my butt’s been wiped,” but, instead, “what must for what?” As such, we at Misbar classify this as commotion; Biden didn’t tell reporters about his toilet-related adventure.
