Misbar’s Analysis

The video circulating dates back to March 2011 and is from the Sendai Airport in Japan, not China. Jiji Press published the footage on YouTube in April 2011.

The Tsunami flooding hit the country following a magnitude 9.0 earthquake on 11 March 2011. The Associated Press reported it was caused by the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant meltdown, which resulted from a magnitude nine earthquake off Japan’s coast. The disaster killed over 15,000 people and left hundreds of thousands without homes, according to National Geographic.
