Misbar’s Analysis
During a tour of a Mack Truck facility in July 2021, Biden remarked that he “used to drive an 18-wheeler” according to newsweek.com. According to the same source, the president may have been referring to a ride on a “47,000-pound cargo truck” on a trip from Delaware to Ohio he took as a young senator to observe difficulties faced by truckers.
According to CDLlife.com: “there is zero evidence that Biden was ever a trucker, or even got behind the wheel of a semi truck. In fact, when questioned about the validity of the statement made by President Biden, a White House Spokesperson could only point to a December 1973 article from the Wilmington Evening Journal that depicted Biden riding as a passenger in a semi truck on a 536 mile haul to Ohio.”
In order to drive a large 18-wheel truck, Biden would most likely have been required to obtain a commercial drivers license (CDL). There is no evidence that he has ever obtained a CDL.
