An image has been circulating on social media which depicts a dog and cat with bandages being treated for injuries. Users claim that the animals were rescued from the ongoing fires in Turkey.
Misbar’s Analysis
MENA: A reverse search revealed that it was old and published in 2019. The image publishing site Imgur uploaded the original image with the caption explaining that the photo is of an injured dog named Apollo and was taken while changing his bandage during treatment at the SPCA Center for Animal Rescue in the United States.
Wildfires have recently developed in forests in various states in southwestern Turkey, including Antalya, Adana, Mugla, Mersin, and Osmaniye, causing multiple deaths and injuries.
