We don’t know who made the claim first, but it may have first started spreading from the Twitter account of Joel Berry, managing editor of a conservative satire website.
From there, the claim was spread on conservative social media.
Misbar’s Analysis
Susan Rosenberg was arrested in 1984 for plotting to bomb the U.S. Capitol to free a member of the Black Liberation Army. She was pardoned by former President Bill Clinton after serving 16 years of her 58 year sentence.
Misbar's investigation found that Rosenberg is not the head of the BLM Global Network. She worked for a charity group called Thousand Currents, a fundraising group that helps funds charities worldwide; one of these charities is Black Lives Matter.
BLM has many sources of funding from individuals and organizations. Funding the group does not mean that an individual or organization is on its board or a leader of BLM.
In response to harassment due to claims like this, Thousand Currents no longer discloses the identity of all of their past and present members.
