Misbar discovered that on August 6, 2021, at a White House Briefing, President Joe Biden claimed that 350 million Americans had been vaccinated against COVID-19: “So we have to get more people vaccinated. I said, well over — what’s the number again, I have to remind myself — 350 million Americans have already been vaccinated. They’re doing fine.”
According to the Census Bureau, the U.S. population is approximately 330 million.
According to ourworlddata.org, approximately 50% of Americans (or 165,000,000 million) have been vaccinated.
While President Biden was wrong about the number of Americans vaccinated, he may have been referring to the number of COVID-19 vaccinations administered. Since some vaccinations require two doses, that number is closer to the 350 million number that he quoted. The number of vaccine doses administered currently stands at approximately 352 million.
