These sources have also stated that this is the first time that the Queen has requested an autograph from anyone.
On social media, these claims have gained significant attention. One post has even managed to gain 13,000 interactions.

Misbar’s investigation found no evidence that the Queen made any such request. The originator of this claim has since walked it back. The tweet had gained over 13,000 interactions when it stated that its source was another Twitter account, the Sport Innovation Society. However, the Sport Innovation Society responded to this tweet, stating that it had deleted its statement, as they could not confirm that the letter they had seen that requested the signed jersey was genuine. Other sources have also reported that the dubious claim originated from the Sport Innovation Society.
While the original Sport Innovation Society tweet is now deleted, it is still circulating as a screenshot.
Queen Elizabeth’s interest in football/soccer has not been widely publicized. Some sources state that she may support the teams West Ham United or Arsenal. However, she has publicly shown support to the national England football/soccer team, which fits her role as the head of state of England.
