Misbar’s Analysis
MENA: Misbar discovered that the plane in the video was not filled with Afghanistan evacuees nor was it coming from Afghanistan. Instead, the plane was a prototype of Russia's new Ilyushin Il-112V military transport aircraft that caught fire and crashed near Moscow according to Business Insider and posted on Russia state-affiliated media. The plane was carrying three crew people and there were no survivors according to APnews.com. According to the same source, the plane had previously flown to Moscow and was set to be unveiled at the Army-2021 forum.
According to the Washington Post, a total of 122,000 men, women and children were safely flown out of Afghanistan. Approximately 79,000 of them were airlifted out on American military aircraft and the rest on charter and allied military flights.
