Misbar’s Analysis

MENA: Misbar’s investigation found that funding for Israel’s Iron Dome will still be legislated. Instead of being removed permanently, the $1 billion of funding for the Iron Dome was introduced in a separate bill two days after being removed from a larger bill. At the time of writing, this bill is still being discussed in the House of Representatives.

The $1 billion in funding for the Iron Dome air defense system had initially been removed from a bill that had the primary purpose of funding the U.S. government until December with stopgap funding and by raising the country’s debt ceiling. The reason for the Iron Dome funding’s removal from this legislation was due to a minority of Democratic lawmakers refusing to vote for the government funding bill unless the Iron Dome funding was removed.
