Misbar’s Analysis

MENA: The article claims that Harris said: “We ought to hold a candlelight vigil to commemorate the sacrifice made by Taliban and ISIS freedom fighters. We could hold it at the National Mall, and I’m sure a million people or more would come to light candles in unity of their plight.” However, as we have discussed many times before here at Misbar, Real Raw News is a fake news site. Politifact recently investigated the site and deemed its articles sensational and fabricated.

Just in case, we scoured dozens of mainstream news sites to see if Harris said anything even close to the alleged quote. Harris has said that she was focused on evacuating women and children from Afghanistan following the Taliban takeover, and that Afghanistan is a priority, but we could find no evidence that she said she wants a candlelight vigil for Taliban fighters.
