Misbar’s Analysis
We found that the circulating image was altered. The article has spelling errors such as the word September.
The actual front page of the NYT from September 26 didn't carry any story on Modi.
Furthermore, a cross-check of the volume number of the article showed a different front page.
Finally, the official NYT Communications account tweeted that the image was “completely fabricated” and shared a link to their reporting on Modi.
Based on the findings, the Misbar team confirms that the claim is false and that the image was digitally fabricated to spread fake news.
