Al-Arabiya TV published a news article alleging Palestinian sources announced that Hamas leaders have reached an agreement with Cairo to complete the exchange of prisoners deals with Israel.
News about the prisoner exchange deal between Israel and Hamas on Al Arabiya was quoted by a Hebrew Channel.
Misbar’s Analysis
Zaher Jabarin, a member of the Hamas Political Bureau and responsible for the prisoners' file in Hamas, published a statement in which he denied the validity of the information reported by Al Arabiya about the conclusion of an exchange deal agreement with Israel.
He called on the media to avoid spreading rumors that manipulate the prisoners and their families' feelings and exercise caution in his statement.
Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum announced a delegation on Sunday to discuss internal and financial issues and political developments relating to the exchange deal with Israel. On Saturday, Hamas said that its political chief Ismail Haniyeh had been invited by Egyptian authorities to visit Cairo for talks on Palestinian developments.
Observers believe that the talks will focus on the consolidation of a cease-fire with Israel, a prisoner swap, and Gaza's humanitarian conditions in the light of Israel's continued blockade on Gaza since 2007.
However, the Israeli media deleted the news reporting an agreement had been reached between Israel and Palestinians.
