Facebook and Twitter accounts have circulated posts claiming the pursuit of an Israeli submarine by the Algerian Naval Forces near the Algerian territorial waters.

Misbar’s investigation found that this post is fake news. The Algerian Ministry of Defence denied the pursuit of a foreign submarine in an official report on their website.
The Ministry added that the naval exercise was successful, and no reported incident was recorded.
The Algerian Press Service itself confirmed the categorical denial of this story by the minister of National Defence.
