A picture of Zinedine Zidane in Casablanca has gone viral. Some Moroccan news websites and social media users claimed that the photo was taken recently during Zinedine Zidane’s vacation in Casablanca.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the claim and found the photo altered. The original image was taken in Paris and posted on Zidane’s Instagram in June 2018.
A Moroccan sports journalist, Ayoub Rafik, compared the two photos in a Facebook post and found the circulating picture fabricated.
Many other Moroccan websites shared articles about the vacation of Zinedine Zidane in Marrakech with his family and friends.
