Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulated claim and found it misleading. The video was not taken in the latest incident where Palestinian migrants drowned in the Aegean Sea between the Turkish and Greek coastlines.
According to Euronews, the video was first shared in May 2016, when an overcrowded boat sank off the Libyan coast, causing a number of migrants to drown while the Italian Coastguard rescued others.
The video has recirculated following news in an actual voice recording by one of the survivors in the recent Aegean Sea incident. The voice recording was dubbed in the video and was shared on Nov. 6. The Palestinian Gaza survivor talked in the recording about a number of migrants in the same incident who drowned after their boat sank in the sea.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expats affirmed that eight migrants have survived while the search for another three missing remains ongoing.
